Job description

AI Enablement Product Owner

Who we are looking for

The AI Enablement Product Owner will help advance AI-enabled capabilities across the Charles River Investment Management Solution and Alpha Data Platform, collectively the Alpha Platform. In this role, you will define, build, and scale AI capabilities that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will partner with existing product teams to apply AI capabilities and integration patterns that enhance our offerings through agentic and automation-driven assistants and functions. Ultimately, you will transform AI innovation into scalable, real-world impact embedded in investment management workflows.

To be successful, the AI Enablement Product Manager will serve as a hands-on product leader responsible for operationalizing AI as part of the Charles River suite of product offerings. The role combines strategic foresight with execution rigor, requiring close collaboration with engineering and business teams to translate emerging AI capabilities into tangible, production-ready features. This individual will drive the lifecycle of AI initiatives, including use case discovery, model integration, workflow design, governance alignment, and performance measurement, ensuring that AI capabilities deliver consistent, measurable impact across both internal operations and client-facing solutions.

What you will be responsible for

  • Based in the greater Boston area, the role involves working closely with internal teams (R&D, client management, professional services, sales) and external stakeholders (clients and prospects) to ensure that platform functionality is augmented insofar as possible with agentic AI/ML capabilities – both as part of embedded components and via integration techniques (API, MCP, CLI).
  • Define and execute the roadmap for AI enablement across products and workflows
  • Identify high-impact use cases (automation, decision support, copilots) aligned to client and business priorities
  • Partner with stakeholders (clients, product, engineering) to prioritize AI initiatives based on ROI and feasibility
  • Become an integral aspect in end-to-end delivery—from concept through deployment and adoption—as product teams leverage the toolsets you create to bring concepts to market
  • Drive integration of LLMs, ML models, and AI services into core platforms and front-to-back workflows
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and interoperability across systems
  • Embed responsible AI practices (transparency, explainability, compliance)
  • Partner with risk, legal, and compliance teams to establish guardrails
  • Act as the bridge between data science, engineering, UX, and business teams
  • Drive alignment across internal teams and external partners

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • Experience in investment management, trading platforms, or financial data ecosystems
  • Familiarity with AI governance, model risk management, and regulatory considerations
  • Exposure to cloud-native AI services (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, etc.)
  • Experience building or scaling AI copilots or workflow automation tools
  • Experience with MCP server frameworks and linking of agents
  • Excellent organisation skills; ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and meet self-imposed deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Foster relationships with senior market practitioners in large and small corporations
  • Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to differentiate and work at strategic and tactical levels simultaneously
  • Consultative presentation style to diverse and complex audiences

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years in product management, preferably in fintech, enterprise SaaS, or data platforms
  • Experience delivering AI/ML or data-driven products at scale
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, copilots, and modern AI architectures (APIs, orchestration layers, vector DBs)
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value
  • Proven track record of owning product roadmaps and delivering measurable outcomes
  • Bachelors Degree from a leading university in Business Management, Economics, Finance, Computer Science
