Job summary

The successful candidate will advance AI-enabled research across Automation, Resilience, and Circularity (ARC) and lead interdisciplinary efforts bridging engineering with social, policy, and economic considerations.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field by the appointment start date.
• Open rank tenure-track or tenured; potential for significant impact and program leadership.
• Research across resilience, circularity, and automation with AI-enabled methods.
• Strong ability to contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives and student mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop an externally funded research program bridging engineering fundamentals with social, policy, and economic considerations.
• Lead interdisciplinary, center-scale research initiatives aligned with ARC pillars.
• Contribute to undergraduate and graduate education, including new courses that complement the CEE curriculum.
• Engage in department and campus service and contribute to mentoring junior faculty.
