Job summary

Google DeepMind is seeking a Software Engineer in San Francisco to join a mission-driven team building general-purpose AI agents and AI-driven user experiences. You will prototype systems for agent testing, visualize results, and iteratively develop UI/UX through robust full-stack work.

You’ll work with ML/Neuroscience scientists, focusing on rapid prototyping and cross-disciplinary collaboration, including prompt engineering and safety considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of coding experience in C, C++, Java, or Python.
• 5 years of front- and back-end technologies and modern web development.
• Experience building prototypes for AI/ML systems and AI-native toolchains.
• Experience with AI technologies, methods, and tools, building UIs and prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop front- and back-ends of user-facing products.
• Design, develop, test, and iterate on stable but experimental code.
• Build dynamic workflows and collaborative tools for user needs.
• Own engineering implementation and delivery, including bug fixes and perf enhancements.
• Engage in prompt engineering to create AI-driven user experiences.
