Job summary
Paces seeks an exceptional Transmission Planning or Power Engineer to join our Solutions Engineering team in Brooklyn. You will perform transmission planning, power flow, and interconnection studies using industry tools and help shape scalable software solutions for renewable projects.
You’ll work closely with product and engineering teams, communicate results to external stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in power system studies or interconnection engineering.
- Experience with interconnection modeling in major ISO/RTOs (PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, WECC).
- Proficiency with PSSE, TARA, PSLF, PSCAD for studies.
- Strong quantitative skills and mentoring experience.
- Customer-facing experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret bulk transmission and interconnection analyses to identify best grid connections.
- Review transmission planning, power flow, and stability studies using commercial tools and guide teammates on best practices.
- Evaluate system dynamics under high renewable penetrations.
- Develop study assumptions using available datasets and forecast upgrade costs.
- Collaborate with product/engineering to develop scalable software solutions for power system analysis.
