Do you have a hands-on software background, but find yourself most energized in customer meetings, shaping business problems into solutions? Are you excited about bringing AI into industrial and manufacturing environments? Then this AI-Driven Solution Architect role might be just right for you. Nortal is looking for an AI-Driven Solution Architect to join impactful projects with our enterprise customers, particularly in industrial and manufacturing environments. You will work closely with customers and our development teams, getting to know their business through active stakeholder discussions and shaping what you learn into high-value solution opportunities. Along the way you gather and refine requirements, demonstrate solutions, and look for the best ways to support our customers' business goals. In this role you act as both a technical expert and a business development enabler. You lead presales activities, ask the right questions, and turn limited information into a clear solution concept, backed by proposals, effort estimates and architecture that our teams can deliver. You work side by side with our sales team to help us grow with our customers, and you split your time between advisory work and pre‑sales. The pace is often fast, with several tracks running at once.

Support customers in their digital transformation across areas such as data modelling and architecture, system integrations, platform modernization, factory and IT/OT environments (including edge and MES), and AI-driven solutions.

Lead regular customer discussions, also independently, to understand their needs, translate them into actionable requirements and open new doors in customer organizations.

Lead presales activities by shaping customers' business and operations into solution concepts and proposals, creating proposal presentations and providing effort estimates, and work together with sales to help us grow our customer accounts.

Translate high‑level architectural directions and customer roadmap items into concrete guidance and a sufficiently accurate backlog for our development teams' architects and product owners.

Produce documentation, technical diagrams, architectural notes, and decision records.

Work closely with development team’s architects/engineers to clarify technical implications, even if you don’t write code yourself, and contribute hands‑on when needed.

Collaborate closely with Nortal colleagues, including development, project management, and data/architecture experts.

What will help you to succeed

• Strong customer communication skills for presales: understanding customers’ needs, shaping business and operations into solution proposals and presenting them clearly.
• Solid technical understanding and ability to discuss architectural‑level topics such as software and data architectures, integrations, and AI.
• A hands‑on software engineering background is essential.
• You have built things yourself, so you can take responsibility and deliver the work, even if you now prefer working closer to the business.
• Experience with the Microsoft stack, especially Azure and .NET/C#, is our strong preference.
• Experience in agentic AI ways of working.
• We actively use advanced agentic AI methods and tools such as Spec‑Driven Development and different AI tools.
• Ownership mindset and the ability to drive initiatives forward, sometimes with fast timelines and limited information.
• Consultant‑like approach: proactive, solution‑oriented, comfortable in the client interface and willing to ask the right questions.
• Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English.

Salary range: 5200-7800€ / month (full-time). Final compensation will depend on factors such as relevant experience, role seniority, and skill set.
