Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer in the Applied AI organization to blend deep security engineering with AI-driven defense research. You will design, prototype, and scale security capabilities that push the frontier of AI-enabled security while collaborating across teams and mentoring others.

The role emphasizes solving ambiguous security problems, leading security systems at scale, and contributing to AI/ML security developments within a fast-moving, impact-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on security engineering experience in one or more domains (detection engineering, threat intel, incident response, cloud security, adversary simulation, etc.)
• Deep expertise in attacker TTPs with demonstrated ability to advance the state of the art
• Proficiency in coding with Python or Rust
• Track record of architecting security systems or programs at scale
• Ability to define and drive complex, ambiguous problem spaces with group-level impact
• Experience aligning across multiple teams and cross-functional partners
• Background in supply chain security, mobile platform security, network protocol security, or AI/ML security preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify and solve ambiguous problems within Security/Trust/Safety domains, driving solutions across teams
• Architect security systems and capabilities that set the standard across orgs
• Drive platform-level decisions for AI-driven security solutions at scale
• Lead adversarial research, threat intelligence programs, detection systems, or AI-augmented investigations
• Shape how security expertise translates into AI capability and scalable methodologies
• Disseminate findings through internal publications and community contributions
