Job summary

Ciena in the United States is seeking a senior Product Manager to own routing strategy and roadmap development. You will work with engineering, product, and sales to translate market needs into tangible product plans and multi‑year roadmaps.

The role emphasizes AI‑driven networking capabilities, operational efficiency, and collaboration across portfolios. A strong background in service provider networks and modern routing protocols is required.

Qualifications

7+ years in product management or technical strategy leadership in routing, networking or cloud infra.
Proficient in IP routing protocols: OSPF, IS‑IS, BGP, MPLS, SR‑MPLS/SRv6, multicast, QoS, VXLAN.
Background in Service Provider architectures: core, metro, access, edge, data center interconnect.
Experience with AI‑driven networking use cases like analytics, anomaly detection and optimization.
Ability to align product teams and communicate with executives.

Responsibilities

Identify and define differentiated IP routing solutions through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Engage global Service Providers to understand network evolution and new service constructs.
Lead PoC initiatives to validate solutions and drive customer adoption.
Align routing innovation with portfolio roadmap with PLM peers.
Translate market needs into detailed requirements and multi‑year roadmaps.
Provide thought leadership on AI‑enabled routing and new revenue models.
Produce roadmaps, whitepapers, and value propositions to support engagement and sales.
