Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a motivated Quality Engineer to advance our AI-driven testing practices. You will design and maintain automation in Java and Python, implement API and database tests, and collaborate with product teams to ensure robust quality for mission-critical applications.

You will participate in CI/CD workflows, leverage AI tools to accelerate test development, and help ensure fairness and reliability of AI-powered systems within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–1 years of professional QA/Quality Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts in Java and Python.
• Basic understanding of STLC and Agile/Scrum.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications like chatbots/AI/ML systems.
• Experience with hybrid automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks in Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints with Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing using SQL queries for data integrity.
• Own quality for features by collaborating with PMs and developers.
• Create and execute functional, integration, and regression test suites.
• Track and report testing progress using JIRA/ADO/ALM and CI/CD pipelines.
• Test AI/ML applications, including chatbots and edge-case handling.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance test script development and data generation.
