Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering & Assurance team in the US. You will design and maintain test automation frameworks in Java and Python, perform API and database testing, and own quality for features from requirements to sign-off.

You’ll collaborate with product managers and developers, apply CI/CD concepts, and explore AI/ML testing for chatbots to ensure robust, unbiased software. Relocation support may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–1 years of professional QA/Quality Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in test automation with Java and Python.
• Basic understanding of STLC and Agile/Scrum.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications (AI/ML).
• Hands-on with Hybrid Automation frameworks.
• Familiar with CI/CD concepts and tools.
• Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling.
• Basic cloud and containerization knowledge (Docker).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints with Swagger, Postman, or Rest Assured.
• Conduct SQL-based database testing to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for features; create test cases, run test suites, and sign off.
• Track testing progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM; understand CI/CD concepts.
• Test AI/ML applications including chatbots for intent and robustness.
• Leverage AI tools to speed up test script development.
• Ensure AI reliability and fairness in testing outcomes.
