Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Quality Engineering to shape an AI-native quality strategy across a SaaS organization. You will own the quality engineering operating model, drive strategic tests with AI agents, and oversee governance and release processes that ensure reliable software delivery.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product and platform teams, mentoring engineers, and advancing testing practices in a modern CI/CD environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Software Engineering or QA leadership across multiple teams.
• Experience designing AI-assisted quality workflows and agentic testing.
• Strong automated testing systems for enterprise SaaS; judgment on automation vs human input.
• Proficiency in Java and TypeScript; reviewing AI-generated code/tests.
• Experience with release governance including gates and exit criteria.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native apps, CI/CD, and microservices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaboration across teams.
• Experience building or transforming a Quality Engineering org in high-growth SaaS.
• Experience with Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, Cypress.
• Familiarity with executable contracts and Jira-like test management.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the quality engineering operating model, defining vision, roadmap, and standards across product lines.
• Lead AI agents to generate, maintain, and execute API, UI, integration, contract, performance, and end-to-end test coverage with human review.
• Manage test review and activation process to ensure efficient progression from draft to validated coverage.
• Establish evidence-based release governance with gates, exit criteria, waivers, and sign-off accountability.
• Define scenarios requiring human judgment and retire manual tests as automation improves.
• Build an evaluation framework for AI-driven quality including datasets, calibration, and resource allocation.
• Champion developer-owned quality by embedding testing and validation into CI/CD workflows.
• Advance exploratory and behavioral validation through persona walkthroughs and judgment-based testing.
• Partner with Engineering Managers, Staff Engineers, Product, Platform, and DevOps to improve reliability and release confidence.
• Mentor engineers and QA through code reviews and design discussions to improve AI-assisted capabilities.
• Define and monitor quality metrics like escape rates, AI verdict calibration, and deployment success.
• Evaluate emerging testing technologies and AI-native engineering practices.
