Job summary

Consertus, a Miami-based AI-native capital program management and advisory firm, seeks an Application Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance Python applications on Google Cloud Platform. You will leverage Claude Code to accelerate delivery while ensuring security-first practices.

You will develop microservices with Cloud Run, GKE, and Cloud Functions, create REST/gRPC APIs with FastAPI, and implement IaC with Terraform.

Qualifications

• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience building enterprise applications.
• Strong proficiency with Python 3.10+ and FastAPI.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, OOP, and API development.
• Experience deploying containerized apps in Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on with Terraform, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Firestore, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience automated testing with pytest/unittest or similar.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain resilient Python apps on GCP (Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, Compute Engine).
• Build scalable microservices and event-driven solutions using Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, and Eventarc.
• Develop RESTful APIs using FastAPI and gRPC with robust auth and versioning.
• Write clean, modular Python following PEP 8 and static typing.
• Participate in design sessions, sprint planning, reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Develop IaC solutions using Terraform; integrate CI/CD with Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Deploy, and GitHub Actions.
• Implement monitoring and logging with Cloud Monitoring/Logging; support BigQuery, Firestore, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Storage.
• Enforce secure cloud architecture practices and IAM least-privilege access.
