Job summary

Freudenberg is seeking a highly qualified researcher to advance generative AI and physics‑informed ML for product, material, and process design. You will build data‑driven and physics‑based models to accelerate development of sustainable solutions and mobility applications.

You will analyze materials data, plan experiments, and collaborate with experts across locations while communicating complex results to diverse audiences, including executives.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, data science, computer science, physics, mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in computational methods for material and product design.
• Strong knowledge of structure-property relationships and materials characterization.
• Experience with Generative AI and ML tools for multiscale simulations.
• Proficiency in Python, Julia, C/C++, and familiarity with SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Flask, Azure or similar cloud technologies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholers.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities in generative AI and physics‑informed ML for discovery and design.
• Develop data‑driven and physics‑based models to guide product and material development.
• Analyze materials data with advanced statistics and data mining techniques.
• Plan experimental campaigns and defend concepts with Freudenberg groups.
• Identify promising material candidates for further investigation.
• Communicate results through reports and presentations to technical and non‑technical audiences.
