Job summary

Distyl, an AI-focused company with offices in San Francisco and New York, seeks its first HR Business Partner to partner with engineers, researchers, and leaders. The role focuses on coaching, organizational design, and compensation frameworks, with AI-native workflows and a hybrid in-office model.

You will help scale our People function, influence leadership decisions, and shape the culture in a fast‑moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years in HR with a background in business partnering.
• Experience coaching managers and navigating complex employee relations issues.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers and leaders to advise on team performance, structure, and hiring plans.
• Coach managers and ICs through growth, feedback, and transitions to improve leadership skills.
• Define evidence-backed HR frameworks to scale Distyl's People systems.
• Advise on compensation bands, offers, promotions, and merit decisions.
• Lead team-level org design and change management, including communication and follow-through.
• Read engagement data and attrition signals to identify real organizational issues.
