Job summary

Bytoa is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance developer productivity by building AI-assisted IDE tooling and advanced development workflows. The role focuses on AI-enabled tooling, automated quality checks, and integration across pipelines, located in Laurel, MD.

Ideal candidates will have strong software engineering skills, experience with IDEs and build/test systems, and hands-on work with AI-powered developer tools.

Qualifications

• 8 years of software development experience, or 12 years total with 4 additional years in place of a BS.
• Experience with AI- or LLM-powered developer tools and chat-based interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-assisted IDE and developer tooling capabilities.
• Integrate agent-based systems for code reviews, unit test generation, and code quality analysis.
• Experiment with autonomous agents to assist development workflows.
• Integrate new tools into existing platforms and pipelines.
• Collaborate with customers and teammates to collect feedback and iterate.
• Measure and document tooling improvements' effectiveness.
