Job summary

Ejamerica in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Data Architect to assess and optimize Data Engineering processes and drive modernization through AI, automation, and advanced data platforms.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS Redshift, expertise in Agentic AI, AI-enabled Data Engineering, and AI solutions across the SDLC. This role requires a proactive architect who can identify opportunities, develop PoCs, and drive successful implementation with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS Redshift.
• Experience with AWS cloud data services.
• Experience with Data Lakehouse, Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, and Data Integration.
• Experience with Agentic AI, Generative AI, or LLM-based solutions.
• Experience applying AI or automation within Data Engineering and the SDLC.
• Strong Python, PySpark, and SQL skills.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing Data Engineering architecture, processes, and platforms and identify optimization opportunities.
• Design scalable and modern data architectures using Databricks, AWS Redshift, and AWS services.
• Identify opportunities for automation, Agentic AI, and AI enablement across Data Engineering.
• Develop and validate Proofs of Concept (POCs) and drive successful solutions into production.
• Define architecture for data lakes, lakehouse platforms, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, and data integration.
• Apply AI across the SDLC, including development, testing, data quality, monitoring, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Establish reusable architecture patterns, standards, and best practices.
• Work closely with Data Engineering, AI/ML, application, architecture, and business teams.
• Present technical recommendations and build stakeholder alignment around innovative solutions.
• Proactively identify improvements rather than waiting for predefined requirements.
