Job summary

AMD is seeking a CPU Power & Performance Validation Engineer to join the Core Validation team in Folsom, CA. The role involves hands-on work with silicon, benchmarks, power analysis, and AI-assisted automation to ensure performance targets are met.

You will collaborate with design teams, develop validation approaches, and contribute to groundbreaking silicon validation efforts with opportunities to influence product performance at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.
• Strong Python scripting and automation skills are required.
• Experience with CPU/silicon performance and power validation expected.

Responsibilities

• Validate Core IP for performance and power accuracy against specifications.
• Execute benchmarks and workloads to evaluate silicon performance and power behavior.
• Identify, investigate, and debug performance and power issues, including corner cases.
• Partner with design teams to understand specifications, requirements, and workload behavior.
• Develop and execute validation approaches to confirm fixes and fine-tune performance.
