Job summary

One Federal Solution is seeking an experienced API Backend Developer to support the National Agricultural Library. The role focuses on API development, maintenance, and enhancement of database-driven applications, with AI techniques to extract structured information from scientific publications.

You will design, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, GraphQL, and REST APIs, and work on modernization efforts for legacy apps.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience developing enterprise applications with SQL Server, MySQL, Python, Django, GraphQL, REST APIs and Linux.
• Expert knowledge of modern web development standards with practical experience.
• Experience applying AI techniques to extract structure from scientific publications.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems and performing technology refreshes.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub for source control and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide backend support for the NAL Library Support System focused on API development and integration.
• Maintain and enhance database-driven apps and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Apply AI techniques to extract structured information from diverse publications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, GraphQL, REST, SQL Server and MySQL.
• Collaborate on modernization efforts and migration strategies for legacy systems.
• Develop API integrations that support business processes and interoperability.
