Job summary

Ancestry is seeking a Data Science Co-Op to join the Content AI team, shaping modern document understanding through AI models that extract insights from historical records. You will train, fine-tune, and deploy models collaborating with engineers to support product development and content creation.

You'll work on multi-modal models, OCR, NER, and knowledge graphs, applying NLP and AI methods while engaging with cloud-based ML Ops and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Pursuing advanced degree in CS, Data Science, Stats, or related field with strong data focus.
• Specialization in generative AI & LLMs, embeddings, and transformer models.
• Proficiency in Python and NLP toolkits like Hugging Face.

Responsibilities

• Innovate with state-of-the-art AI for document understanding tasks.
• Analyze and optimize multi-modal models in zero-shot and few-shot settings.
• Collaborate on cloud deployment and ML Ops pipelines for training and inference.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
