Job summary

Amgen in Washington, DC area is seeking an AI Digital Product Sr Manager to lead a cross-functional team developing AI-powered solutions that accelerate discovery and streamline R&D workflows.

You will collaborate with engineering, data science, UX, and business partners to deliver production-ready AI applications in 2–6 month cycles, driving adoption, KPI improvement, and cost efficiency across programs.

Qualifications

• Masters or higher in a relevant field with 6+ years IT/OT experience OR
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years IT/OT experience OR
• Diploma with 12+ years IT/OT experience

AI Digital Product Sr Manager - AI Studio

What You Will Do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will lead a cross-functional product team that rapidly discovers, builds, launches, and scales AI-powered solutions that accelerate scientific discovery, streamline R&D workflows, and improve enterprise decision making.

Working across engineering, AI engineering, data science, UX, and business teams, you will translate emerging AI capabilities into production-ready enterprise applications. You will balance rapid experimentation with enterprise quality, delivering AI products in 2 to 6 month development cycles while driving measurable business outcomes.

What Youll Do

• Lead AI Product Strategy and Delivery: Own the strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and delivery of a portfolio of AI applications and intelligent agents. Lead a cross-functional product team through discovery, delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and prioritize AI opportunities based on customer value, technical feasibility, business impact, and strategic alignment.
• Drive Customer Discovery: Partner with scientists, researchers, business stakeholders, and end users to understand workflows, identify high-value AI opportunities, validate solutions, and continuously improve products through user research and rapid prototyping.
• Bridge Business and Technology: Translate business needs into product requirements and partner with engineering, AI engineering, data science, UX, and external partners to deliver impactful AI solutions.
• Deliver and Scale AI Products: Lead AI products from opportunity discovery through enterprise deployment using rapid experimentation, iterative delivery, and customer feedback. Build reusable product patterns that accelerate future AI delivery while ensuring products are scalable, reliable, secure, and cost effective.
• Measure Success: Own product KPIs including adoption, usage, customer satisfaction, model quality, reliability, latency, and business impact, using analytics, experimentation, and customer feedback to continuously improve products.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience leading digital AI products, defining product strategy and roadmaps, and measuring product success.
• Strong technical fluency across AI technologies, cloud platforms, APIs, and modern software development.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with software engineers, AI engineers, data scientists, UX designers, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Master's degree and 6 years of Information/Technology Systems experience OR
• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Information/Technology Systems experience OR
• Diploma and 12 years of Information/Technology Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years delivering AI/ML, enterprise software, or digital products.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams delivering AI applications, intelligent agents, or enterprise software from concept through enterprise adoption.
• Strong understanding of LLMs, AI agents, RAG, prompt engineering, AI evaluation, and ML productization in enterprise environments.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms and modern cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, Databricks, OpenAI, MLflow, or comparable AI development platforms.
• Experience applying customer discovery, rapid prototyping, experimentation, analytics, and AI quality metrics to guide product decisions.
• Experience partnering with engineering, AI engineering, security, and business teams while communicating product strategy and outcomes to executive leadership.
• Familiarity with biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, laboratory, clinical, or scientific workflows is preferred.
