Job summary

Precise Software Solutions, Inc. is seeking an AI Developer to build and maintain data pipelines, knowledge bases, and AI components for secure AI-enabled government applications. You will also automate AI deployments and provide user helpdesk support.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site in Washington, DC (DOL HQ). U.S. citizens or green card holders must obtain public trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field with 1+ year of relevant experience (equivalent experience may substitute).
• 1+ year of hands-on Python software development experience.
• Experience building data pipelines and working with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on exposure to Generative AI via LLM APIs, embeddings, vector stores, or RAG.
• Familiarity with a major cloud platform and CI/CD tools; strong written and verbal communication with non-technical users.

Position Summary

Precise Software Solutions Inc. is seeking an AI Developer to build and maintain the data pipelines, knowledge bases, and AI components behind secure AI-enabled applications for the U.S. Government. You will also help automate AI deployments and provide helpdesk support to application users.

This is a hybrid position- will require 3 days a week on site in DC (DOL HQ). Must be USC or GC and able to obtain a public trust clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines (ETL/ELT) that prepare structured and unstructured content for AI workloads.
• Build knowledge bases for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), including document chunking, embeddings, vector indexing, and regular refreshes.
• Develop Python services, APIs, and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations, including prompt templates, structured outputs, and agentic workflow components, under the direction of senior engineers.
• Build and maintain CI/CD and model-lifecycle pipelines with automated unit tests, security scans, and Test, Evaluation, Verification and Validation (TEVV) gates across all environments.
• Curate, validate, and version datasets; maintain metadata, lineage, and data-quality checks; and apply PII masking and data-minimization controls.
• Write unit and integration tests, support model and retrieval evaluation, and document defects and results.
• Monitor pipelines, ingestion jobs, and vector indexes; troubleshoot failures; and support root-cause analysis and incident response.
• Serve as a helpdesk resource for AI application users, resolving tickets and escalating as needed.
• Prepare user manuals, job aids, and technical documentation, and keep code, prompts, and configurations in Government-approved repositories with full traceability.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field and 1+ year of relevant experience. Equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
• 1+ year of hands-on software development experience in Python.
• Experience building data pipelines or data processing jobs and working with SQL and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on exposure to Generative AI through work, internship, or substantial projects, such as LLM APIs, embeddings, vector databases, or RAG.
• Familiarity with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), Git, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience providing technical or application support to end users, including ticket triage, troubleshooting, and clear written and verbal communication with non-technical users.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
• Must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and be able to work on-site at Government offices.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of software or data engineering experience, including support of federal agency programs.
• Experience with RAG frameworks and vector stores.
• Experience with document processing (OCR, PDF parsing), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and MLOps tools.
• Experience with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) or an ITIL Foundation certification.
• Generative AI or Machine Learning certification (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, or NVIDIA).
• An active Public Trust or prior federal background investigation.
