Goodwin is expanding its Global Operations Team by adding an AI Developer who will design, implement, and support AI-powered applications and automation solutions. This role emphasizes shipping reliable software with growing independence and collaboration across engineering, legal, and business stakeholders.

You will work with Python, C#, TypeScript, React, and APIs, and leverage Azure AI services to build scalable solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
2–4 years of professional software development experience.
Experience with Python, C#, or TypeScript.
Experience with Microsoft Azure.
Exposure to AI, ML, large language models, or intelligent automation.
Experience working within a structured SDLC environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain AI-powered applications, automation solutions, and agent-based systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workflows and translate needs into technical solutions.
Develop software components and integrations using Python, C#, TypeScript, React, APIs.
Configure and support AI solutions using Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies.
Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and prompt engineering with orchestration frameworks.
Participate in architecture discussions and promote scalable, maintainable solutions.

The AI Developer is a member of the Digital & Technology team responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting AI-powered applications, automation solutions, and agent-based systems that enhance business operations and user productivity. This is first and foremost a software engineering role, requiring solid engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping reliable software, with AI and agent-based systems as the current focus. The role takes well-scoped problems from design through deployment and iteration, delivering dependable solutions with growing independence.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role works closely with software engineers, architects, business stakeholders, legal teams, data professionals, and technology partners to design, build, test, and maintain scalable AI solutions. The position contributes to the delivery of innovative products and services that advance the firm's use of AI.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain AI-powered applications, automation solutions, and agent-based systems that support business needs.
Collaborate with business and functional stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, and translate needs into technical solutions.
Develop software components and integrations using technologies such as C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, React, APIs, and related development frameworks.
Configure and support AI solutions using Microsoft Azure AI services and related cloud technologies.
Assist in the implementation of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and agent workflows, using orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, or LlamaIndex.
Participate in application architecture discussions and contribute recommendations for scalable, maintainable solutions.
Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and validation processes to ensure solution quality and reliability.
Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.
Follow established software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, security, and operational standards.
Create and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, deployment procedures, and support materials.
Collaborate with Information Security and other stakeholders to support secure, compliant, and responsible use of AI technologies.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, standards, and team knowledge.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

Participate in pilot programs, proof-of-concepts, and technology evaluations related to AI and automation.
Support user training, adoption activities, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Stay informed on emerging AI technologies, development practices, and industry trends.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Competencies

Software development skills using Python, C#, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, databases, and application integrations.
Understanding of AI technologies, including LLMs, agent-based systems, prompt engineering, and RAG.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated accountability, collaboration, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.

Educational Qualifications/Job Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2-4 years of professional software development experience.
Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting software applications in a professional environment.
Experience with one or more modern programming languages, preferably Python, C#, and/or TypeScript.
Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Exposure to AI, machine learning, large language models, or intelligent automation technologies.
Exposure to AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, or LlamaIndex.
Experience working within a structured SDLC environment.
