Job summary

Lume Consulting Group in Sacramento, CA seeks a senior AI/ML Project Manager to lead multiple AI/ML initiatives, define scope, schedules, budgets, risks, milestones, and deliverables. You will translate strategy into actionable delivery plans with business and technical teams.

The role requires 10+ years in project management on complex tech programs, 2+ years in AI/ML projects, and strong knowledge of data pipelines and model lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in project management on complex technology programs with budgets over $1M.
• At least 2 years managing AI/ML and data analytics projects.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, data pipelines and model lifecycle management.
• 5+ years leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science or related field.
• Experience using MS Project, Jira and Confluence; familiar with Agile and Waterfall.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple AI/ML and Generative AI initiatives simultaneously.
• Define and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, milestones, and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain PM documentation including: Project Charters, Communication Plans, Risk & Issue Logs, Training Plans, Transition Plans, and Project Closeout Reports.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate AI strategy into executable delivery plans.
• Oversee AI adoption and organizational change management activities.
• Ensure AI solutions align with security, governance, compliance, and ethical standards.
• Participate in technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and integration planning.
• Review business requirements, AI models, training datasets, and feature engineering approaches.
• Manage vendor performance and stakeholder communications.
• Prepare executive presentations and weekly/monthly status reporting.
• Support continuous improvement of AI delivery frameworks and methodologies.
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
