A Day In The Life

The AI & Data Senior Product Manager at The Friedkin Group (TFG) owns the full product lifecycle — from discovery through production — and is accountable for ensuring data, analytics, and AI solutions are adopted, trusted, and deliver measurable business impact. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, data science, AI engineering, and software delivery, translating enterprise vision into shipped product. Working closely with business stakeholders and Use Case Owners, the AI & Data Senior Product Manager crafts enterprise digital products powered by data, advanced analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI. They define performance metrics, success criteria, and adoption approaches while aligning technical execution with strategic objectives. Operating in a forward‑deployed capacity, they surface emerging business needs, challenge the status quo with a builder mentality, and lead cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, high‑impact solutions at speed. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on product leader with strong technical fluency across modern data and AI platforms, capable of navigating complex, ambiguous environments. They ensure solutions are not only delivered efficiently but embedded into business processes, adopted by users, and generating sustained value across The Friedkin Group family of companies.

Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy & Vision
  • Translate business vision into clear technical product features, roadmaps, and design specifications — incorporating data, advanced analytics, automation, and GenAI capabilities grounded in technical feasibility.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to business leaders, recommending novel and transformative approaches to solve business problems using data & analytics.
  • Identify and champion high-value AI and data product opportunities, including LLM agents, intelligent workflows, and document/process automation, with a track record of measurable business impact.
  • Stay ahead of AI innovation by integrating emerging technologies (multimodal models, agentic AI, reinforcement learning) and industry best practices into product strategy.
  • Backlog Management & Agile Delivery
  • Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features based on business value, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment; write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team to plan and prioritize releases, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery of product increments.
  • Operate in a forward‑deployed capacity to uncover deep technical requirements and surface emerging business needs before they become blockers.
  • Work closely with project management and cross‑functional product development teams to manage the delivery process, ensuring the product is built to defined requirements and user stories.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Drive collaboration across applied science, AI engineering, data engineering, software engineering, cloud platform, and project management teams to deliver AI/ML solutions at scale.
  • Partner with Business Use Case Owners to define user acceptance criteria and testing procedures; work with technical teams to define the technical testing strategy.
  • Manage the technical rollout of the product, coordinating across IT, business, and product support teams; provide content needed to support business deployment.
  • Translate technical details into business‑friendly language for non‑technical audiences, support Business Use Case Owners in developing change and enablement approaches and stakeholder communications.
  • Product Performance & Governance
  • Define and track product performance metrics including adoption, usage, model performance, and business impact, monitor user feedback loops for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and risk frameworks; embed model explainability, fairness, and auditability into product design.
  • Apply working knowledge of security, compliance, and data governance for AI — including data classification, PII/PHI handling, access controls, and model risk management.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure adoption and sustained value realization; manage customer relationships and business user engagement.
  • Accountable for product performance. Shared accountability for business outcomes with Business Use Case Owner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; comply with all policies and standards; review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines; responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
What We Need From You
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Master's Degree MBA or technical discipline Preferred.
  • 10+ years professional experience in product management, product ownership, or product solutioning within enterprise technology, data, or analytics functions.
  • 5+ years of direct experience owning data pipelines, analytics platforms, machine learning, or AI products end to end.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience defining, scoping, or shipping GenAI or Agentic AI‑enabled products; working knowledge of LLM capabilities, limitations, prompt engineering, and responsible AI principles as they apply to enterprise deployment.
  • Hands‑on experience with data and analytics technologies such as SQL, Python, Machine Learning, and/or analytics technology Preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Data & Analytics or a related industry (e.g., automotive, financial services, logistics, or operations‑heavy domain) Preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile and hybrid development environment.
  • Track record of shipping production AI solutions (LLM agents, intelligent workflows, document/process automation) with measurable business impact.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining secure API integrations with leading AI platforms (OpenAI, Azure AI, AWS SageMaker) and cloud‑native AI services.
  • Familiarity with microservice and event‑driven architectures that integrate with enterprise systems.
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficient knowledge of cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Data/ML platforms such as Databricks or Dataiku.
  • Working knowledge of modern data stacks (APIs, ETL/ELT, data lakes, event buses) and at least one programming/scripting language (Python, TypeScript, PySpark, or SQL) for prototypes and technical review.
  • Leadership & Communication
  • Proven track record of leading cross‑functional teams to successfully deliver complex, data‑driven and GenAI products in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of making data‑driven decisions and adapting product strategies based on performance and market trends.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast‑paced environment where the nature of the work can be varied.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Manager or equivalent Agile Certification Preferred.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI a plus.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
