Job summary

Speechify, an AI-powered reading platform, is hiring a Software Engineer for our Data team to own data collection and ingestion pipelines that power model training at scale.

You’ll work with scientists to expand petabyte-scale datasets on GCP using Bash, Python, Docker and Terraform, shaping the dataset roadmap for our consumer and enterprise products. Join a distributed team changing how millions learn.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and IaC concepts with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new data sources and ingest into pipelines.
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for ingestion pipelines (GCP, Terraform).
• Collaborate with scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and data quality.
• Help craft dataset roadmap to power consumer and enterprise products.
