Job summary

Lincoln Financial Group is seeking a data engineering professional to build ingested and transformed data models using Python and SQL, and to develop services with FastAPI and Pydantic. You will implement tested logic from business rules, integrate with AWS, and contribute to data quality and governance.

You will deploy via GitLab CI/CD, write comprehensive tests, and collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accurate definitions and secure data handling in a regulated financial services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on Python and SQL with solid data modeling.
• Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, pytest.
• Experience building or extending a Model Context Protocol server; knowledge of Git, CI/CD, cloud data env.

Responsibilities

• Build ingestion, transformation, and curated data models using SQL, Python, and approved AWS services.
• Build and maintain FastAPI and Pydantic services with clear schemas, validation, and documentation.
• Translate source mappings and business rules into tested logic with domain experts.
• Write unit and integration tests using pytest and mocks.
• Deploy through GitLab CI/CD; monitor with logs, metrics, and runbooks.
• Capture metadata, lineage, provenance, and access requirements as part of done.
