Job summary

Esri is seeking a skilled AI/ML engineer to advance ArcGIS Pro AI Copilot capabilities. You will collaborate with a global team of engineers and product managers to design, build, test, and refine AI-powered Copilot features that enhance GIS workflows and improve user experience across government, conservation, imagery, and more.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience using Python and/or C# in application development.
• Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning concepts.
• Experience in building training datasets and fine‑tuning AI models (NLP or vision).
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of software development processes.
• Strong analytical problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in GIS, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify primary use‑cases and workflows with users and industry experts.
• Contribute to the design and usability of ArcGIS Pro AI Copilot.
• Develop and implement test cases and validate bug fixes.
• Maintain, monitor, and grow the automated test suite.
• Troubleshoot production issues in current and past software versions.
• Collaborate with feature teams to infuse Copilot across ArcGIS Platform.
• Stay up to date with advances in AI and application development frameworks.
• Share workflows and projects in samples, tutorials, blogs, videos, and help documentation.
