What we’re looking for

Hercules is looking for a senior or staff level product manager to own our AI coding agent.

What you’ll do

• Your #1 and only goal is to make Hercules’ AI coding agent cheaper, faster, and more accurate.
• You will own the entire context and harness system design—including system prompt, tools, memory, skills, summarization/compression, hooks, and codebase architecture.
• You will own Hercules’ online and offline evaluation systems.
• You will leverage our 100k+ users, 200k+ code repositories, and millions of chat threads to guide experimentation.

Required skills

• Software fundamentals: technical proficiency and ability to code, with decent understanding of system design, architecture, data modeling, and API design; collaboration with engineering on complex implementation.
• Product sense: strong intuition for customer goals and innovative solutions to help them achieve those goals.
• Design sense: record of building simple, delightful UX/UI that enables customers to reach their objectives.
• AI context and harness engineering: experience with state‑of‑the‑art practices such as summarization/compression, prompting, prompt caching, subagents, memory management, tools, async tools, deferred tools, and skills.
• Yes, we know the industry evolves rapidly and best practices change weekly, but we seek someone who has wrestled with these challenges at scale and has strong opinions about what works and what doesn’t.
• Our core stack: TypeScript, React, an agent framework (e.g., AI SDK), and an eval platform (e.g., LangSmith).
• AI fluency: able to 10x your workflow by staying on the frontier of AI coding.

Technical stack

• Technologies: TypeScript, React, AI SDK, Postgres, Redis, ClickHouse, Tailwind, IaC (CDK, Terraform), Docker, OpenTelemetry, Hono, Drizzle ORM, Temporal.
• Clouds: Cloudflare, AWS.
• AI models: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google.

Compensation

$100,000‑$250,000 + equity (variable based on seniority, equity, and location)
