Job summary

WTW is evolving its FinOps practice to keep AI and cloud spend visible, accountable and efficient. This role drives the evolution from traditional cloud FinOps to Tokenomics, building controls, reporting, and automation across Azure and AI.

You will stand up FinOps for AI from scratch, with a small core team, global estate, and visibility to senior technology leaders; success will be measured by automation, cost hygiene and actionable insights for product teams.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years in cloud cost management, cloud engineering, platform engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience, including the cost management tooling. Awareness of AI services such as Azure Foundry.
• Automation engineering capability: Python with Azure Logic Apps and Functions (or equivalents) replacing recurring manual processes with automation.
• Strong data and query skills with experience gathering and maintaining cost data, ideally against FOCUS-aligned datasets.
• Understanding of AI cost drivers across vendors (token consumption, model selection, pricing models).
• Working knowledge of the FinOps Framework in an enterprise setting (cost allocation, showback, chargeback).
• Ability to translate cost data into insights for engineers and finance, including Power BI reporting.
• Strong communication to bring engineering, product and finance teams along on a FinOps transformation.
• Track record of identifying and delivering cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Automate design-time cost estimates for workloads and AI features.
• Automate ingestion, normalization and allocation of cloud/AI cost data aligned to FOCUS.
• Instrument AI cost attribution by team, product, feature and environment.
• Build alert-to-closure workflows with multi-threshold budgets and SLAs.
• Develop automated metrics that yield meaningful, actionable insights.
• Automate insight-to-action routing for optimization recommendations and trends.
• Support cost hygiene with detection of orphaned/idle resources and lifecycle actions.
• Help shape real-time guardrails to control AI spend and enforce model-tier policy.
