Job summary

Cambridge’s Next Step 11-week paid summer internship program (May 17 - July 30) gives students the opportunity to gain valuable insight into both their chosen field and the financial service industry while working on meaningful projects that contribute to business outcomes.

Each intern is partnered with a professional mentor and participates in our professional development program, which includes industry education, career workshops, leadership panels, and networking events.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in data analytics, data science, CS, business, operations, finance, or related fields.
• Interest in AI, automation, data analytics, or emerging technologies.
• Experience with AI-enabled projects, automation, scripts, or workflows is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Curiosity and initiative to learn across disciplines.
• Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and data-analysis tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Practice Management, SAS, and Source team members to learn how each area supports financial advisors.
• Shadow team members and analyze business processes to identify workflow inefficiencies and opportunities for AI/automation.
• Research, build, test, and document AI and automation solutions using tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
• Develop prototypes and recommendations for potential implementation to improve efficiency.
• Analyze data and create reporting, user profiles, and insights on program participants and markets.
• Present findings and recommendations to business stakeholders clearly and professionally.
