The PSCo Regulatory team is looking for an intern that can support our efforts to implement AI and automation tools into our everyday work. From streamlining processes to conducting research to supporting the development of operational plans, we have a clear need to harness the tools AI and automation can provide to improve our external filings and simplify our internal processes.

Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop AI agents to automate administrative tasks
  • Develop AI agents or system automation to track and update internal systems
  • Develop AI agents to review, polish, and improve written documents and presentations
  • Update and refine existing agents to improve functionality

This position is for a May 31, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements
  • Current student, Junior or higher (as of Fall 2027)
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Data science, information systems, project management
  • Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstration of ability to create, edit, and design AI or automation tools using programs such as CoPilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.90 to $22.10 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
