US Foods is seeking an AI Automation Intern to identify opportunities for agentic AI across business processes. You will work with stakeholders to translate workflows into AI-enabled solutions, build proofs of concept, and document requirements.

The role emphasizes responsible AI and collaboration with cross-functional teams. As part of a hybrid summer program, you’ll gain exposure to leadership and present end-of-summer findings to key business leaders.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, operations, information systems, computer science, engineering, data analytics, or a related field.
• Must be enrolled in school during the internship.
• Typical candidate is between junior and senior years or between first and second years of graduate school.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and process-documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to document current-state processes and pain points.
• Identify opportunities where AI, copilots, workflow automation, or intelligent agents could improve speed and quality.
• Translate needs into clear use cases, requirements, and success measures.
• Build and test proofs of concept using approved AI and automation tools.
• Evaluate outputs for accuracy and alignment with requirements.
• Document data sources, integrations, controls, and risks.
• Collaborate with governance partners to validate feasibility and responsible AI.
• Develop business cases describing benefits and effort.
• Prepare demonstrations and roadmaps for leaders.
• Capture reusable patterns and documentation for future opportunities.
