About the Role
As an AI & Automation Developer, you will play a key role in shaping and expanding the firm's AI and automation capabilities. Working directly with IT leadership and business stakeholders, you will design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that streamline operations, eliminate manual processes, and improve the employee and client experience across the organization.
This is a hands‑on engineering role for someone who is a developer at their core, with strong scripting and programming expertise and a passion for applying AI technologies to solve real business challenges. You'll have the opportunity to influence how AI is adopted across the firm while building scalable solutions that deliver measurable business value.
For senior‑level candidates, this role will also serve as a technical leadership position, helping define AI strategy, establish best practices, evaluate emerging technologies, and act as the organization’s subject matter expert for AI and automation initiatives.
What You'll Do
AI & Automation Development
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain automation workflows, integrations, and AI‑powered solutions across business and IT operations.
- Build scalable applications and services leveraging modern AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), AI APIs, and intelligent automation platforms.
- Develop scripts, integrations, and custom solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Integrate AI capabilities into existing business systems, workflows, and enterprise applications.
Business Process Transformation
- Partner with business leaders and department managers to identify opportunities for automation and AI enablement.
- Analyze current‑state processes and recommend innovative solutions that improve productivity, accuracy, and user experience.
- Support key automation initiatives, including:
- Client intake automation
- Employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Tax process modernization initiatives
- Client request management and service delivery automation
Solution Delivery & Optimization
- Manage projects through the full development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
- Monitor solution performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimize workflows and AI models.
- Document architecture, processes, technical decisions, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and IT teams to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable deployments.
Senior-Level Responsibilities
- Serve as the organization's AI and Automation Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Help define the technical roadmap and strategic direction for AI initiatives.
- Evaluate new AI platforms, tools, vendors, and emerging technologies.
- Establish development standards, governance practices, and implementation frameworks.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership across projects.
- Spend approximately 50% of time on hands‑on development and 50% partnering with stakeholders to shape AI strategy and adoption.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5+ years of software engineering, automation, or AI-focused development experience.
- Proven experience leading AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives from concept through production deployment.
- Deep expertise in scripting, application development, systems integration, and workflow automation.
- Hands‑on experience implementing enterprise AI solutions utilizing LLMs, Copilot, Claude, OpenAI, or similar technologies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions.
- Ability to operate independently, establish priorities, and drive initiatives with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience building and managing containerized applications.
- Background in robotic process automation (RPA) and process orchestration.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native architectures.
- Knowledge of API development, systems integration, and enterprise workflow platforms.
- Experience supporting IT operations, service desk functions, infrastructure teams, or business process transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with governance, security, and responsible AI best practices.
