Job summary

Altera is seeking a visionary technical leader to drive the next generation of AI-powered semiconductor design solutions in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on Agentic AI, Generative AI, and ML across the silicon lifecycle, partnering with design, manufacturing, and data science teams to accelerate productivity and improve PPA.

The candidate will lead AI initiatives, develop intelligent autonomous engineering agents, and advance DTCO collaborations with foundry and validation teams. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
• “12+ years of semiconductor industry experience spanning silicon lifecycle.”
• “Strong AI/ML expertise including Generative AI and LLMs.”
• “Proficiency in Python and at least one of C/C++, Java.”
• “Experience building enterprise software, AI platforms, or automation systems.”
• “Proven technical leadership in large-scale engineering initiatives.”

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, architecture, and development of AI-driven semiconductor design solutions.
• Develop and deploy Agentic AI systems for automated engineering workflows across RTL, synthesis, and physical design.
• Build multi-agent platforms for autonomous decision-making and flow optimization.
• Advance domain-specific LLMs and foundation models for semiconductor workflows.
• Drive AI-enabled EDA integrations and platform scalability.
