Job summary

RandomTrees LLC is seeking a senior AI/ML-enabled systems architect to lead end-to-end design of distributed AI/ML platforms in complex environments. You will work across architecture, MLOps, and cloud data to deliver scalable solutions and guide junior engineers.

You should excel in communicating with senior stakeholders, handle ambiguity, and drive projects from concept to implementation while maintaining robust, secure, and maintainable services.

Qualifications

• Communication skills for explaining complex concepts and influencing decisions.
• Architecture experience designing distributed AI/ML systems end to end.
• Strong grounding in machine learning, deep learning, and GenAI/LLMs, including RAG and fine-tuning.
• MLOps experience with tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML, or Databricks.
• Engineering strength including Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices/API design.
• Cloud and data experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and big data tech (Spark, Kafka, data lakes/warehouses).
• Track record of working with senior stakeholders, managing expectations, and cross-team delivery.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity, tight timelines, and challenging technical environments.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain complex concepts simply and influence decisions.
• Architecture: Proven experience designing complex, distributed AI/ML systems and platforms end to end.
• AI/ML expertise: Strong grounding in machine learning, deep learning, and (ideally) GenAI/LLMs, including RAG and fine-tuning.
• MLOps: Hands-on experience with tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML, or Databricks.
• Engineering: Strong programming skills (Python required), plus experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices/API design.
• Cloud and data: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and with big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, data lakes/warehouses).
• Stakeholder management: A track record of working with senior stakeholders, managing expectations, and delivering across teams.
• Resilience: Comfortable with ambiguity, tight timelines, and challenging technical environments.
