Cognizant is seeking an AI Architect to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of production-grade autonomous multi-agent AI systems. You will collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and healthcare teams to deliver intelligent, goal-oriented agents across the software lifecycle.

The role emphasizes hands-on design with Java, Spring Boot, React, and AI frameworks such as Claude and LangChain, plus secure integration with Claude APIs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering or related fields.
• At least 1 year building production-grade multi-agent AI solutions.
• Strong full-stack experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Experience with Claude and AI frameworks.
• Knowledge of secure, scalable AI-powered workflows and CI/CD.
• Ability to lead architecture roadmaps and translate enterprise objectives into scalable AI solutions.
• Available during Pacific Time business hours.

As an AI Architect, you will make an impact by leading the architecture, development, and scaling of production-grade autonomous multi-agent AI systems. You will provide technical leadership and help shape the strategic roadmap for enterprise AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and healthcare domain teams to develop intelligent, goal-oriented agents that support the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, application scaffolding, coding, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD operations.

In this role, you will:

• Architect and develop scalable multi-agent AI systems using Agentic AI, Claude, retrieval-augmented generation, LangGraph, LangChain, and Azure.
• Design and build responsive, high-performance user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and modern state-management libraries.
• Develop scalable enterprise microservices, REST APIs, and business logic using Java and Spring Boot.
• Integrate Java backend services and React applications securely with Claude APIs to deliver intelligent, LLM-powered features and automated workflows.
• Use Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate prototyping, multi-file refactoring, test-driven development, code reviews, and defect remediation.
• Optimize end-to-end performance and data flow across React applications, Java services, and cloud-hosted LLM endpoints.
• Implement comprehensive frontend and backend automated testing using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, and JUnit.
• Establish secure coding, data privacy, architectural quality, and scalable engineering standards throughout the application lifecycle.

Candidates must be available to work primarily during Pacific Time business hours.

What you need to have to be considered

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, full-stack application development, DevOps, or related engineering disciplines.
• At least one year of hands-on experience designing and building production-grade LLM, Agentic AI, or multi-agent solutions.
• Strong full-stack development experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks and technologies such as Claude, Claude Code, retrieval-augmented generation, LangGraph, LangChain, and Azure.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications with LLM APIs and implementing secure, scalable AI-powered workflows.
• Strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps practices, application security, data privacy, and production architecture.
• Experience providing technical leadership and translating enterprise objectives into scalable AI architecture and engineering roadmaps.
• Availability to collaborate with project teams during Pacific Time business hours.

These will help you stand out

• Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted software engineering tools.
• Experience developing autonomous agents that support coding, testing, code review, deployment, and other software development lifecycle activities.
• Knowledge of healthcare technology platforms, healthcare business processes, and claims adjudication.
• Experience optimizing performance across React frontends, Java microservices, and cloud-based LLM platforms.
• Experience driving enterprise adoption of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $102,600 – $162,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
