Role Overview

This role is ahybrid strategy and execution positionsitting at the intersection ofAI, cloud, workforce transformation, and education pathways.

On the client side, this person serves as atrusted AI and technology advisor, leading assessments, developing AI and cloud roadmaps, and helping organizations translate emerging technologies into practical, human-centered strategies.

When not client-facing, they focus internally onturning AI curriculum into structured learning pathways, aligning training content to real job roles, workforce needs, and regional ecosystem goals.

This role requires someone equally comfortableleading executive conversations,designing strategy, androlling up their sleevesto build scalable education and workforce solutions.

Key Responsibilities
1. AI & Technology Assessments (Client-Facing)
  • Lead client assessments acrossAI, cloud infrastructure, data readiness, and education/workforce capability.
  • Evaluate current-state people, process, technology, and tooling environments.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities related to AI adoption and workforce readiness.
  • Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights for executives and stakeholders.
2. AI, Cloud & Education Strategy and Roadmaps
  • DevelopAI and cloud strategy roadmapsaligned to business, workforce, and community outcomes.
  • Design phased implementation plans that balance innovation, feasibility, and human impact.
  • Advise clients on AI enablement, governance, tooling, and skills transformation.
  • Partner with HMCI leadership to shape ecosystem-level strategies for cities, regions, and institutions.
3. Training Strategy and Enablement
  • Lead and coordinateAI training strategy, ensuring alignment between assessment insights, roadmap priorities, and learning interventions.
  • Advise on build vs buy decisions for AI tools and training platforms.
  • Support client workshops, executive briefings, and AI use case sessions as needed.
4. AI Curriculum Pathways and Workforce Design
  • Transform AI and technology curriculum intostructured, role-based learning pathways.
  • Align content to job roles, career progression, and employer needs.
  • Work with K–12, higher education, workforce agencies, and industry partners to map pathways from learning to employment.
  • Ensure curriculum reflects real-world AI workflows, tools, and human-machine collaboration practices.
5. Education and Workforce Ecosystem Engagement
  • Serve as a strategic liaison with education partners, workforce agencies, and industry collaborators.
  • Support partnerships with community colleges, universities, and workforce programs.
  • Represent HMCI at ecosystem meetings, strategy sessions, and selective events as needed.
Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of experience acrossAI, cloud, technology consulting, workforce strategy, or education innovation.
  • Strong working knowledge of AI systems, cloud platforms, and modern data infrastructure.
  • Experience leadingassessments, strategy development, and roadmap creation.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable being client-facing, facilitating workshops, and presenting to executives.
  • Strong systems thinker who can connect technology, skills, and human outcomes.
Preferred
  • Experience in technology consulting, digital transformation, or AI advisory roles.
  • Background working with education systems, workforce development, or learning design.
  • Familiarity with AI training tools, GenAI platforms, or role-based learning models.
  • Passion for the future of work, human-machine collaboration, and equitable access to technology.
  • Salary Range:$105,000 – $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

  • Work Environment:Hybrid; in-office presence required at HMCI’s Rancho Cordova HQ several days per week, with travel to partner sites as needed.
