Deloitte’s GPS AI & Data team is seeking an AI and Data Science Engineer II to design, develop, and deploy machine learning and analytics solutions for government and public sector clients.

You will translate mission needs into scalable technical designs, build data pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready models and dashboards while supporting continuous improvement and model governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsor
  • Active TS/SCI Polygraph security clearance required
  • 1+ years of experience developing and deploying ML/AI/analytics solutions
  • 1+ years of Python and SQL for data analysis, model development, or data engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud platforms, data pipelines, or model deployment environments
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Willingness to travel 10–20% on average

Work you'll do

As an AI and Data Science Engineer II on the Government and Public Services AI & Data team, you will be responsible for…

  • Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics solutions for government and public sector clients
  • Building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines, models, and analytical workflows that support scalable and reliable delivery
  • Translating business and mission requirements into technical designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions
  • Collaborating with engineers, data scientists, product teams, and client stakeholders to implement data-driven capabilities
  • Supporting solution optimization, model performance monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement activities

  • 1+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, data pipelines, or model deployment environments
  • Experience using machine learning frameworks or libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Ability to travel 10–20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Experience supporting federal, state, or local government clients
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, application programming interfaces (APIs), or data integration tools
  • Experience with model monitoring, MLOps, or production support processes
  • Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, or containerization tools
  • Experience creating dashboards, reporting solutions, or analytical products for business users

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,500 to $170,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
