Job description

Job Description

The AI and Automation Leader is responsible for strategic pursuit of AI and Automation innovation and value creation across the organization. The role merges business acumen, strategic insight, innovation, and technology expertise to realize the full potential of AI beyond automation and productivity improvement. The role is focused on driving AI transformation, improving organization AI literacy, creating strategies and AI value creation.

Essential Functions And Primary Duties
  • Lead firm-wide AI and automation strategy and execution as the organization’s primary champion for AI-driven transformation, translating AI trends and industry developments into a compelling, forward-looking roadmap that positions the firm as a recognized leader in AI-enabled government health and human services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select AI and automation technologies — including large language models, agentic AI frameworks, automation, and intelligent document processing — determining the most appropriate tooling and platforms to address the organization’s highest-value opportunities across practice areas and functional areas.
  • Partner with business teams to build and prioritize a high-value use case pipeline by consulting closely with practice leaders and business unit stakeholders to identify, scope, and advance AI and automation opportunities that deliver measurable impact for internal operations and client-facing service delivery.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of agentic AI and intelligent automation solutions by leading architecture decisions, overseeing solution development, and ensuring implementations meet performance, security, and compliance standards required in government health and human services environments.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing AI and automation team in a player-coach capacity, directly contributing to solution delivery while simultaneously recruiting, organizing, and mentoring team members and integrating existing resources into a cohesive, mission-focused practice.
  • Design and oversee firm-wide AI training and enablement programs that build AI literacy at every level of the organization, foster a culture of responsible adoption, and cultivate a super user community that serves as an internal Community of Practice and amplifies AI and automation reach across all service lines.
  • Develop and enforce AI governance policies and responsible AI standards in close collaboration with IT, Compliance, Legal, and Firm Leadership, ensuring frameworks satisfy applicable federal and state regulatory requirements including HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST AI Risk Management Framework guidelines.
  • Collaborate within IT on AI-assisted solutioning by partnering leaders in several respective service areas like Application Development to integrate AI capabilities into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) or AI directly into applications, or Data and Analytics to ensure data pipelines, quality standards, and governance practices support AI model performance and auditability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in technology, information management, or business leadership roles, with a minimum of 2 years leading AI, automation, or advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in a player-coach capacity — capable of directly contributing to solution design and delivery while building, organizing, and leading a team from the ground up.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying AI and automation solutions, including large language model integrations, and agentic AI workflows.
  • Experience working in or supporting government contracting, professional services, or regulated environments, with familiarity with federal and state health and human services programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the AI and automation industry landscape, including awareness of leading platforms, emerging frameworks, and competitive trends relevant to accounting, audit, consulting, and technology services.
  • Familiarity with AI regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to government contracting environments, including HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), and responsible AI principles.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, communicate program status and risks to senior leadership, and drive cross-functional alignment across IT, compliance, and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the proven ability to translate complex AI and technical concepts into accessible language for executive, operational, and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience developing and delivering AI literacy and enablement programs, including change management strategies that drive broad organizational adoption of AI tools and practices.
  • Ability to travel based on business need.
Minimum Qualifications
