Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced Oncology/Hematology APRN/PA-C for the Celebration and Kissimmee facilities in Florida. You will perform patient evaluations, order tests, and monitor treatment plans in a hospital setting.

The role requires 1–3 years in hematology/oncology, Florida license, and board certification or eligibility. Join a multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive cancer care, including support and clinical trials access.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of APRN or PA-C experience in hematology/oncology.
• Board-certified in oncology and internal medicine (or eligible).
• Current Florida APRN or PA license and national certification (ANCC/AANP).
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations of oncology/hematology patients in hospital settings.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as routine labs and imaging.
• Monitor patient's course of treatment and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Treat and manage cancers including breast, lung, GI, head and neck, urologic, leukemias and lymphomas.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and staff to provide consistent care.
• Maintain a caring, professional attitude and pursue ongoing professional growth.

Overview

About the practice:

The Hematology & Oncology practice at Celebration/Kissimmee is affiliated with one of the most comprehensive cancer programs in the state, the AdventHealth Cancer Institute. The multidisciplinary team of specialists provides treatment for all cancers, in and outpatient chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and symptom management associated with cancer, blood disorders. Patients have access to a multitude of cancer support and resources, including access to national clinical trials, cancer care coordinator and oncology social worker. Our physicians are board certified in oncology and internal medicine and bring nearly a century of extensive clinical experience in the treatment of cancers and blood diseases.

General Summary:

• Performs physical examinations of patient's evaluation and treatment of oncology and Hematology patients within the hospital setting.
• Locations include Celebration and Kissimmee.
• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
• Monitors the patient's course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed.
• Treatment and management to a wide variety of cancers including but not limited to breast, lung, gastrointestinal, head and neck, and urologic, along with chronic leukemias and lymphomas.
• Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
• Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Required: 1-3 years of experience as APRN or PA-C in Hematology/Oncology
• The hospitals that will be covered: AdventHealth Celebration and AdventHealth Kissimmee
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public
• Strong communication skills and strong medical decision-making skills are a must
• Strong clinical background with an emphasis on oncology related conditions
• Candidate must be able to pass a third-party background check and pre-employment drug screen

Required Education/Experience:

• Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

• Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license
• ANCC, AANP (or equivalent) certification is required
• BLS and ACLS required
• ONS Certification preferred
