Instruct various life support courses, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEARS, or NRP, following the guidelines of the American Heart Association and American Academy of Pediatrics.
Instructor Commitments
- Teach at least 4 courses in 2 years according to AHA guidelines
- Maintain current provider certification
- Support the Chain of Survival and AHA's mission in the community
- Conduct in accordance with the ECC Leadership Code of Conduct
- Avoid conflicts of interest as per AHA policies
- Teach or co-teach 2 instructor-led events every 2 years, including NRP guidelines
Requirements
- Conduct courses per AHA standards
- Provide hands-on training and evaluate participants
- Keep accurate records of attendance and performance
- Stay updated with AHA content changes
- Maintain training equipment
- Foster a positive learning environment
Qualifications
- Current AHA Instructor certification or willing to obtain
- Current NRP Instructor certification or willing to obtain
- Experience as a physician, RN, NP, RT, PA, CM, or CNM in neonatal care
- Ongoing experience caring for newborns in delivery or birthing centers
