Job summary

CHS Inc. in Garretson, SD is seeking an Agronomy Operations Intern for Summer 2027 to work closely with customers and learn hands-on agronomy operations.

You will gain exposure to scouting, crop protection products, and nutrient management while supporting seed and equipment activities. You will assist with inventory control, compliance with safety policies, and gain practical experience under supervision of experienced professionals, preparing you for a career in agronomy and agricultural

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Ag Business, Crop Science, or other Agriculture related degree program.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Software.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge of agronomy tasks including scouting, crop protection products, nutrients, seed, and application procedures.
• Perform all agronomy/seed operations.
• Monitor and maintain quality of inventory.
• Regulate and periodic housecleaning processes and record keeping.
• Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance for all agronomy equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers as needed.
• Work in and keep an environment compliant with CHS policies and safety rules.

The internship can start as early as Spring 2027 , depending on business needs and your availability, and extend through the summer. **Responsibilities** * Gain knowledge of general agronomy skills such as scouting, crop protection products, crop nutrient products, seed, custom application procedures, mixing procedures, truck driving, and delivering product.* Perform all agronomy/seed operations.* Monitor and maintain quality of inventory.* Regulate and periodic housecleaning processes and record keeping.* Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance for all agronomy equipment including legs, conveyors, towers, vehicles, sprayers, floaters, trucks, etc.* Provide excellent customer service and assist customers as needed.* Work in and keep an environment that is compliant with state, local, and CHS Environmental and Safety policy. **Minimum Qualifications (required)** * Currently enrolled in Ag Business, Crop Science, or other Agriculture related degree program.* Proficient with Microsoft Office Software. **Additional Qualifications** * Agriculture experience or background knowledge helpful.* Previous internship experience helpful, but not required. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
