Job summary

The New Mexico Department of Agriculture seeks an Agriculture Specialist, Intermediate, to coordinate the Trichomoniasis program and support surveillance, testing, and certification activities across the state.

The role involves organizing regional testing events, managing data systems, collaborating with veterinarians and producers, and contributing to outreach, training, and nonregulatory efforts while traveling statewide as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's with 2 years.
• Knowledge of livestock production systems and cattle operations preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with producers, veterinarians, industry partners and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate statewide testing activities, including sale barn events and targeted testing.
• Manage the Trich-Free Certification database and related data reporting.
• Develop outreach materials and conduct workshops for producers.
• Support quarantine processes and biosecurity in collaboration with veterinarians.

Education

Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience
