Job summary

The University of Illinois Extension seeks an Extension Educator to lead development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs aligned with the university's land‑grant mission.

The role focuses on local food systems and agricultural education, partnering with local educators, schools, and community groups to translate research into practice. This is a full‑time, 12‑month academic professional position, based in Unit 26 with potential additional locations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required from an accredited institution.
• Candidates with a Master’s degree in progress may be interviewed; degree must be completed by hire date.
• Informal and/or formal teaching experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide program leadership, interpret and integrate information, teach in the designated area, and develop educational programming.
• Assess local clientele needs via networking with community organizations and groups.
• Develop curricula addressing local needs and align with state/national interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Deliver high‑impact programs using diverse delivery mechanisms with volunteers and staff.
• Guide program expansion and quality, training employees or volunteers.
• Support voluntary educational delivery with subject matter expertise.
• Evaluate program impact.
