Job summary

Montana State University Extension seeks an Extension Agent – Agriculture and 4-H Youth Development in Conrad, Montana to assess community needs and develop education programs in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Horticulture; 4-H Youth Development and Community Vitality are primary emphases.

The team includes a Family and Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development agent, and a dedicated administrative assistant.

Qualifications

• Lead groups and assess community needs, then develop, plan, teach, and evaluate programs.
• Provide leadership for Extension programming for youth, adults and volunteers.
• Collaborate with diverse audiences and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community needs assessment and develop, plan, implement, facilitate, and evaluate educational programs in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Horticulture; 4-H Youth Development; and Community Vitality.
• Provide shared leadership with peers for development and evaluation of the 4-H program to foster positive youth development and volunteer engagement.
• Collaborate with Extension faculty and county staff to plan and execute the four-county Marias Fair and the Multi-County 4-H Camp.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field
