Job summary

Platte Valley Equipment, a full-service John Deere Dealer serving Eastern Nebraska, seeks a Service Technician to diagnose and repair agricultural and turf equipment, with field service support as needed.

You will work on customer and dealer-owned equipment, participate in dealership training, and stay updated on products including AMS technologies. Strong communication, safety, and documentation discipline are required.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks using specialized tools and procedures.
• Familiarity with Service Center and basic computer functions.
• Capability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience performing John Deere service repairs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment, including AMS products.
• Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Initiate self-training opportunities with tools and provided resources by the dealership.
• Stay updated on existing products and pursue additional technical and product knowledge through dealership training programs, manufacturer training, and on-the-job learning.
• Diagnose and support machine systems, including Precision Ag technology.
• Maintain the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure a clean and organized work area and perform tasks in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations during work assignments.
• Complete all required paperwork and forms using ExpertServices accurately and on time.
• Track time accurately on a timecard and account for all materials used in assigned duties.
• Deliver excellent customer service and uphold a positive dealer image.
