Placements24 is seeking an Agricultural Operations Supervisor to manage daily farm activities at the Welkom farm. You will lead a team of farmhands, coordinate planting, irrigation, harvesting, and maintenance, and ensure efficient, safe operation of equipment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on farming operations experience, strong leadership and organizational skills. A relevant agricultural qualification is a plus, but substantial Welkom experience is acceptable.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Agricultural Operations Supervisor to manage the day-to-day activities on their farm in Welkom . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of all farm tasks, from planting and cultivation to harvesting and maintenance. You will lead a team of farmhands, delegate responsibilities, and oversee the proper use and care of agricultural machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in farming operations and possess strong leadership and organizational skills to maintain high levels of productivity and safety on the Free State farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of farm laborers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to plan.
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of farm machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
• Implement planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting schedules as directed by farm management.
• Monitor crop growth and health, reporting any issues or concerns to the farm manager promptly.
