Job summary

Bish Enterprises is seeking a Mechanical Technician to diagnose and repair agricultural and lifting equipment, including customer- and dealer-owned gear such as corn headers. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship and a clean work environment.

The position offers a starting wage from $16.50 to $24 per hour, with both part-time and full-time options. Work may occur at customer sites or in-house alongside engineers, fabricators and field specialists.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 75 pounds as required without assistance.
• Ability to travel to training events and service calls as needed.
• Ability to work extended hours during the week and on weekends.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle status, with current driver’s license, and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
• Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used in service shops (diagnostic equipment, forklifts, hydraulic lifts, etc.).
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Owns mechanic toolset appropriate for the work required.
• Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of Ag, Automotive, & Lifting equipment

Responsibilities

• Equipment and Tools: Maintains good condition and cleanliness of company vehicles inventory, tools, and equipment, including the return of tools to storage areas.
• Safety: Follows all company and common-sense safety policies, while using all required personal safety equipment.
• Service Diagnostics: Performs basic / complex diagnostics on agricultural / construction / diesel equipment, determining what repairs are needed and/or recommended for future attention / maintenance.
• Service Paperwork: Completes all reports and forms for service operations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensures accurate timekeeping for job costing.
• Service Repairs: Performs repairs on electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, diesel systems as requested.
• Teamwork: Works with technicians, parts, and sales; mentors apprentices and junior technicians; after hours as required.
