Role Description

The Agricultural Equipment Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site position based in Shell Rock, IA. This role is responsible for designing and developing agricultural equipment and components from concept through production, with a focus on performance, durability, and manufacturability. Day-to-day tasks include creating and refining CAD models and drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams in manufacturing and product management, and supporting prototype builds and testing. The engineer will analyze designs for structural integrity and safety, troubleshoot design-related issues, and implement improvements based on field feedback and industry standards. The position also involves maintaining documentation, adhering to project timelines, and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and product quality.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to agricultural equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and design optimization of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts as they relate to modern agricultural machinery and integrated systems.
  • Experience in Product Design, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and transitioning designs to production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and reliability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering, manufacturing, and field support teams.
  • Experience with agricultural equipment or off-road machinery is beneficial.
