Job summary

AgView FS, Inc. in Varna, IL is seeking a Full Time Applicator and Mechanic to operate and maintain sprayers, trucks, and related equipment for applying crop inputs.

The role includes data recording, blending and delivery, safety checks, and routine maintenance according to DOT standards. Minimum high school diploma with 5 years of related experience; valid CDL with Hazmat endorsements and required licenses for applicators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is normally required, with 5 years of related work experience
• Must have or obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements, a satisfactory driving record and valid medical card
• Must hold and maintain, or have the ability to obtain, all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications in states where crop production inputs are applied
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant

Responsibilities

• Operates commercial sprayer or floater to apply crop inputs to producer field
• Operates and maintains single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment
• Records application data according to regulations and standards
• Sets up material handling, blending, storage and application equipment for blending and delivery of products
• Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures
• Demonstrates knowledge of and safely operates sprayers, floaters, trucks and other equipment to meet DOT standards
• Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and equipment
• Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials safely
• Ensures products are evenly balanced and distributed on trucks/trailers and proper axle weights are met
• Responsible for inventory control and turns in application records daily
• Maintains license/certifications status as required
• Work extended hours and on-call as needed
• Collects/records soil sample information
• Follows OSHA and DOT policies and procedures
• Performs all other duties as assigned
