Job summary

GoGoGrandparent is seeking a scientist to lead a research program using longitudinally collected blood samples from older adults. You will design and execute studies, pursue external funding through grants, and partner with clinical/operations teams on sample collection, processing, and biobanking.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MD/DO with substantial research experience.
  • Experience with human biospecimen research, preferably plasma/sera/PBMCs.
  • Proven grant-writing track record (PI/co-I).
  • Experience with IRB protocols and human subjects compliance.
  • Strong scientific writing and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical/ops teams.
  • Experience harvesting plasma/sera/PBMCs from whole blood.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead observational or interventional studies using serial blood samples.
  • Define research questions, endpoints, and analysis plans on aging biomarkers.
  • Oversee sample metadata, data integrity, and longitudinal linkage.
  • Analyze data or collaborate on analyses; publish and present findings.
  • Stay current on aging biology and biomarker technologies.
  • Identify funding opportunities and lead grant proposals.
  • Manage funded projects with timelines, milestones, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with academic, clinical, and industry partners.
  • Design and refine blood collection protocols and processing workflows.
  • Ensure IRB/ethics, HIPAA/privacy, biosafety, and chain-of-custody compliance.
  • Coordinate with labs for processing, storage, and shipment.
